CB almost ready for its own energy supply with solar roof

Energy for almost 500 households
CB's newest warehouse will be fully self-sufficient in energy by mid-November thanks to its solar roof. The 2,422 solar panels can generate 1.3 gigawatt hours (1,300,000 kWh) of electricity annually, enough to power around 492 households.
Preparations have been hard at work since May and ProfiNRG started installing the system in August. By now, the solar panels, together accounting for 1.4 megawatts, are fully installed and the inverters connected. The final phase, connecting the distribution box to the system, will be completed in mid-November. From then on, the system will start supplying power.
BREEAM certification
The new building, at Erasmusweg 5 in Culemborg, will receive a BREEAM Excellent certificate: a sustainable building through re-use of materials, sustainable choice of materials, gas-free heating and the solar roof.
Second building with solar panels
These are not the first solar panels at XX. A solar roof was already installed on XX's baking warehouse in 2021. This solar roof generates 500,000 kWh annually.
The new warehouse will officially open on 15 November.
